As one of the original buildings of the Sutherland Estate, Big Barns is just a stones throw away from Dunrobin Castle, the family seat of the Earl of Sutherland.

The house sits in two acres of private gardens which include a variety of rare plants and enclosed woodland. Native deer are often seen around Big Barns and seals swimming close to shore can be admired from the local beach which is just a short walk away.
From the cottage itself there are a number of exhilarating woodland forest walks and cycling routes that lead you to breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
With four distilleries within easy driving distance, why not take the opportunity to enjoy a whisky tour and maybe bring back a bottle or two for a 'wee dram' in front of your very own log fire in Big Barns cottage?
